Please pray for--
Health; there are a lot of germs going around. So far, we’ve avoided them and would like that to continue.
For us all to grow in love toward each other and God, and know how much he loves and likes us
Praises--
We had a nice Christmas vacation—stayed here in Orlando, and spent time with friends.
Extra support gifts that came in allowed us to reimburse over a year of medical expenses! |

Have you ever thought that maybe we should have a few weeks after the holidays for wrap-up time? Then, when the new year arrives, we're ready for a new beginning, not wrestling to get back into the routine of school, cleaning up after Christmas and getting those last things off the to-do list. Our pastor gave a helpful reminder—instead of having the mindset that says “it’s the new year, three strikes and you might as well just cross that resolution off the list,” to think of it as a new year to continue our journey with God and see where he leads us.

Elijah and Mikayla are back at school, and one thing they like about it are class jobs. Mikayla was finally assigned to be “door holder,” and Elijah’s favorite is being “the sanitizer”...sounds like a new kind of superhero! Elijah recently borrowed a light saber toy from a friend overnight and liked it very much, even though he has yet to see any Star Wars movies (maybe in a few years). We’re currently trying to cut down on the whining and increase the helpfulness in all of us. The kids have
jars that they get to put a colored stone into when we see good behavior or attitudes. (When the jars get full, we’ll award a special prize.) It’s been amazing to see the difference in them so far; hopefully we as parents can be mindful of our attitudes, too!
