Our hearts go out to those who are grieving over the recent events at Virginia Tech. No one at Campus Crusade claims to know why God allowed such a horrific event to occur, but we are seeking Him for wisdom as to how to use the massacre for His glory. God has put Virginia Tech in the limelight and we are expecting Him to use this to reach many people for Himself. Outreaches are in the works to help those who hurting:
• We are in the process of putting together a podcast (a digital recording for mp3
players) of the first chapters of C.S. Lewis’ book about grief.
• April 19 served as a global day of prayer for Virginia Tech. Dennis Rainey
(of FamilyLife) solicited the prayers of his 1 million radio listeners. We found out
today that 500 people emailed our National Director in response to the call for
prayer as well as 600 people who posted comments on our Campus Ministry blog
specifically designated for this purpose. Another 2,000 people joined a prayer group
on the very popular networking site, Facebook.
• Virginia Tech’s version of the everystudent.com website, Gobbletalk.com, which had
recently seen nominal traffic, recorded over 8,000 hits in the first four days
following the shooting with over 40 students giving their lives to Christ in response
to the site’s evangelistic message.
We thought that you might also be interested to know some news specific to our
Campus Crusade for Christ family as it relates to this tragedy.
• None of our 10 staff at Virginia Tech were hurt
• Four students involved with Campus Crusade at VT were killed.
• Molly Donohue, the freshman girl who was the first to find the dead bodies in her
dorm, is involved with Campus Crusade. Her story has received media coverage
from ABC, NBC, and Time magazine. You can read her story at

Being parents made this Easter more special as we were able to explain a little bit more to Mikayla about why we celebrate this holiday. There is a children’s version of the JESUS film that Heather and Mikayla watched together. Mikayla often brings up Jesus at meal times and it’s so encouraging to see her openness to Him. She likes to say how he came to life again. Our church gave people a chance to be baptized the week following Easter and saw over 200 people respond! Elijah is getting over an ear infection, is sleeping longer at night and is rolling over a lot. We look forward to seeing him crawl and seeing if he likes our kiddie swimming pool as much as Mikayla likes it.
