Big Break 2006
The annual spring break evangelism conference, called Big Break, was held in Panama City Beach, FL, over three weeks last month. Our team provides the event’s brochure, website, T-shirt design and video products. While many stories come out of a time like this, we’d like to share one. Shanti is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and shared the story of three amazing conversations.

Big Break totally changed my life in the fact that it gave me such confidence in the Lord to share my faith. The very day I returned from Big Break, I shared my faith/the gospel with my suite mate. God totally kept the conversation going and my suite mate asked great/really big questions. Since then, I’ve given her “A Case For Faith” [by Lee Strobel] in hopes that it inspires more conversations.

Two days after Big Break (Tuesday), one of my RAs asked about my spring break and I totally shared my faith with him too! He does not believe that Jesus is God, but I gave him the Y-Jesus magazine and after he read it, we got together for coffee. He was surprised by the magazine and he’s very interested in Christianity and talking more.

And the story isn’t over yet! That same afternoon I first talked to my RA (Tuesday), the Lord led me to say hi to one of my friends from high school. To my shock, she told me that her mom had died about four weeks ago. I had no idea where she was spiritually, but I asked if I could call and pray for her. She was so appreciative and told me that she wanted to focus more on her faith. I was so excited and said that if she ever wanted to talk about God that I would love to talk with her! We ended up talking later that night and after sharing the gospel with her, she accepted Christ!! Praise God!

He has totally blown me away in the last couple weeks! It just goes to show how mightily God will move if we just take that step of faith and follow His lead!

This is just a small glimpse into what you are involved with as you pray for us, and give to us so that we can do our part to make Big Break an attractive and successful spring break option for our students.

Family Update
Heather’s pregnancy continues to go smoothly. We are halfway done at this point; some days that feels fast and others it seems like the birth is so far away. We had another ultrasound a few weeks ago and it looks like we’re having a boy this time! We’ll have one more ultrasound at 30 weeks which should confirm that. Heather’s been hitting the garage sales and finding lots of boy clothes. She loves bargain-hunting! Mikayla shows both her sweetness and her desire for more independence on a daily basis. She blows kisses to about anyone, and anything. She has also learned the word no and loves to use it. She can wag her finger back and forth while saying no, no, no and does so at times when she knows she’s done something we’re not pleased with. She’s also pretty proficient at identifying body parts. She will participate in her first Easter egg hunt next week, which should be fun.
