It feels like we’ve worn our sweaters more this winter than in the past. Still, we’ve enjoyed times recently playing baseball in our backyard with plastic balls and bat. Both Mikayla and Elijah enjoy hitting the ball and are doing better and better.Almost any activity that gets some of their energy out is a good one! As always, there are plenty of to-dos in our schedule but we are trying to be intentional about spending time doing family activities and getting together with friends. We’ve started reading through the gospels with the kids, (we have a Bible that combines the four of them). They’d prefer it with pictures, but hopefully it will grow on them. Mikayla is doing well at school, and enjoys doing math. Elijah is finally making progress using the potty—the end of diapers is finally in sight! Heather continues with various art projects and just recently signed up to help answer questions that college students ask submitted to everystudent.com.

Shawna, a friend who has had some experience in the everystudent.com chat room, shared some of her experiences:
•Sammy (in Australia) and I have chatted a couple of times—he is a devout Muslim & in a relationship headed toward marriage with someone who is a Christian...asking questions about what would that mean. Pray for him.
•One chat was with an 11-year-old girl who was on holiday in China but lived in Australia. She had accepted Jesus as Lord of her life just last fall. It was a great chat to encourage her to stay strong & pray with her.
•One day I got to chat with two people within a few hours, who basically both started the chat with “How do I become a Christian?” One of these was a woman in Botswana. I went thru the gospel with her & asked her if she wanted to receive Jesus as her Lord & she said yes...I shared a simple prayer of what to pray with her & she was writing it down...she said she prayed it right then but wanted to keep praying it. I told her once she asked Christ into her life, He was in her heart.
•The second chat was with a gentleman in Hartford CT. I’m guessing he had been around some who called themselves Christians but were very legalistic from his questions. I was able to share with Him that God is righteous & holy but because of His grace & desire for a relationship with each of us, is why He sent Christ to pay the penalty for us. He prayed to receive Christ that day as well.
