Mikayla UpdateTime has flown by since Mikayla’s birth! She is so precious to us and brings us much joy. We’re amazed at how much we love her, even though she’s done nothing to really earn that love. How much we want to protect and care for her! She gives us a great picture of how much God longs to care for us, even when we have done nothing to be worthy of his love. We’d appreciate your prayers in a particular area—Heather is trying to breastfeed Mikayla and there have been problems with her not staying at the breast. We were able to see a specialist down here who gave us some oral exercises to help strengthen Mikayla’s mouth, and prayerfully help her learn to nurse more consistently. You can also pray for Heather as she has to be up every few hours to bottle milk for Mikayla, which is, of course, tiring, and limits her time available away from the house. Tsunami relief fundIt has been shocking to hear about the devastation in South Asia due to the tsunami, and the ever-rising death toll. Campus Crusade for Christ has set up a relief fund that people can give to. To find out more please go to: http://www.tidalwaverelieffund.com. Thankfully, all of our staff in these areas are fine. Please pray that they would be the light of Christ to the millions who are hurting at this time. Internet EvangelismEverystudent.com, a website that the campus ministry runs, now sees about 100 visitors every day indicate decisions for Christ. That’s over 300,000 people per year! God is using the internet to draw people to himself. Our team, the ICT (Innovation Center for Technology) is committed to making other sites that win people to Christ, build them in their faith, and give them resources so they can go tell others. Support StatusAs you may know, we need to raise about $2,400 in monthly support. Support has always been based on an individual’s or family’s need, and not on their position in the ministry or whether both the husband and wife are working full time. We count it a privilege to work for a ministry that considers a mom’s priority to be her family and lets her determine how much she can be involved in ministry outside the home. Our current need stems from two things: a shortfall in support that existed before Mikayla was born, and an additional need for Mikayla to cover regular healthcare expense increases. Our salary will increase only slightly when we reach our support goal, as the bulk of the support needed is to ensure benefits and ministry expenses are covered, as well as making sure we don’t start getting short paychecks due to inadequate funding. Please keep us in your prayers—specifically, that God would lead us to others who he has already prepared to partner with us.
