For a successful Preview Weekend as students heard of ministry opportunities at Lake Hart

Big Break is the annual conference that takes place in Panama City Beach, Florida, which
coincides with spring break. The students who attend will be trained in sharing their
faith in Christ on the beach, and then go and do just that! I’ve been busy with various
video projects, as we prepare for the conference.
One such project was five music videos that
portray Shelby, the emcee, lip-synching to five
different songs. One will run just before the
meeting starts each time he takes the stage at
the start of the week’s five main meetings. The
videos are a great way to build excitement and
fun for the students attending. While I’m there
for that first week, I’ll help produce other
videos that are needed for the program and for
the promotion of next year’s conference. I’ve really enjoyed working with my teammates
to record and edit these videos, and the experience I’ve gained helping with tech
stuff at church is helping as I do my job at work!
Last month’s recruiting event was a success, and I participated as some of the students
went through the process of brainstorming, writing and taping an interview. One
student said how she learned of the many operations-type positions that need to be
filled, and another shared that the weekend really informed her of new ways she could
minister and use her gifts.
I survived being Mr. Mom last month while Heather took a
weeklong seminary class. She enjoyed the change of pace
very much, and felt spurred on in her faith by the teachings.
Mikayla regularly asks if it’s Thursday, because that’s when
dance class is at church. Her teacher works at Disney and
treats all the little girls like princesses. They are so cute. It’s
also a time for Heather to get to know a few of the other
moms at the church. Elijah is now 18 months old and is
trying to climb more, sleep without a pacifier and eat with
a little spoon. He’s healthy, but has barely gained a pound in
a year and will have a follow-up visit with the pediatrician
soon to see if his appetite and weight are increasing.
