You can pray for Mikayla. Her pre-K teacher resigned last week. They found a qualified re- placement quickly, but it’s still a huge adjustment for her to make. A few Sundays ago we were asking the kids what they learned in kids church. It was so sweet to hear Elijah tell us about Jesus being in the boat and it was raining and thundering and the disciples were scared and Jesus got up and said STOP and it stopped. Elijah is definitely growing in his story-telling abilities...asking questions and making lots of observations about everything!
It’s spring, and for American college students, that means Spring Break. For Campus Crusade students, it also means Big Break, our conference in Panama City Beach, Florida. Our students go there to get trained in ways to take Christ to their fellow students, and then go out on the beaches and streets to do that! I was there for a week to help create videos that Shelby, the emcee, used in the main sessions, and also to shoot video that documented what the students’ week was like.
This year, the students also worked with GAIN to assemble meal packets for Haiti. GAIN is the relief and development arm of CCC, which works to meet the physical needs of the poor and where disaster strikes. Our students recruited other spring breakers to come alongside them to help pack meals, which also made possible conversations about spiritual issues.

Nick, a sophomore from Grand Valley State University, came to Big Break with Campus Crusade.“I thought I was saved, but it wasn’t until after I prayed with someone else who received Christ that I realized I needed to do it too,” he said. Nick came to Big Break thinking he had things figured out, yet even through his personal struggles with sin, God used him to reach another with the gospel, not to mention he too personally prayed to receive Christ in his own life that very same day.“I know that I’m different. God’s turned me into a totally new person,” Nick declares.
In just the first 2 weeks of Big Break:
• 456,190 meals were packed for Haiti
• 9,260 conversations initiated with spring breakers on the beach
• 6,368 full conversations with college students on the beach
• 3,654 spring breakers heard a presentation of the gospel
• 421 spring breakers indicated decisions to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
And there are still a couple of weeks left—several hundred more Christians arrive in town tomorrow to start another week.
