Campus Crusade for Christ has always been about winning people to Christ, and discipling (building) them in their faith, and sending them out to the world. While our work in the National Campus Office is strategic to accomplish this, we don't often get to see directly those who are coming to Christ or growing in their faith. I (Heather) caught a glimpse of this last night at dinner. We had a new staff couple over for a meal; David has been helping the husband complete some training for the last several months. I realized that several years ago, when Amanda and Josh would have been freshmen, I helped create materials that their campus director used to raise money for their local Campus Crusade movement. Those funds would be used for outreaches, training times, or scholarships to send students on different short-term mission events. Here right in front of me were two people who had benefited from that, and as a result where trained in their faith and who saw the importance of introducing others to Christ. They have now been sent as they are working alongside us.
The verse 1 Corinthians 10:31 comes to mind: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." In the day-to-day activities of life we want to keep in mind that God wants to use us to reflect him. You never know how God will use something simple to bring people to himself. Please join us in praying we'd follow him closely.
These last few weeks we find ourselves envying how much energy Mikayla has and wishing we each had three hands. Mikayla¹s vocabulary grows daily as she repeats more and more of what she hears. She likes to do motions for the songs "Wheels on the Bus," "If You're Happy and You Know It" and "Itsy-Bitsy Spider." She talks a lot (some of which we understand), and loves to dance.
She loves her brother, but isn't too fond of sharing things that used to be hers alone. Elijah is growing‹he's already up to 13 lbs. and is charming us with his big toothless smiles. We are adjusting to the new norm of what life looks like with two small children. Heather has healed well and is able to pick up Mikayla once again.
Thank you for your prayers and partnership!
